As an effective way for enterprises to enhance the ability of innovation and corecompetitiveness, cooperative innovation must be accompanied by the IP risks (intellectualproperty risks), which seriously hinder the building and running of cooperative innovation.How to identify, assess and control the IP risks of cooperative innovation has become thefocus of the enterprises.Taking inter-firms cooperative innovation as the research object, theoretical analysis andempirical research as the main methods, theory of inter-firms co-innovation and IP risksmanagement as a guide, this paper establishes the effect factors model of IP risks incooperative innovation, uses the theory of system dynamics to analysis the mechanism,designs questionnaire, tests the validity of the model, and uses the system dynamics methodsto conduct the simulation study.From the external environment, the main body and the object body three dimensions, thispaper conduct the effect factors model of IP risks in cooperative innovation. This papersubdivides the external environment factors for the level of economic development, theintellectual property legal system of nation, the social protection consciousness of intellectualproperty; the main factors for the management capability of enterprise senior, the flowfrequency of the employees, the intellectual property protection system of enterprise, thedegree of trust between members, the completeness of cooperation contract, cooperationmotive; the object factors for the cost to obtain and maintain intangible assets, the clarity ofthe classification and measurement of the intangible assets. By analyzing the causal relationships among effect factors, this paper constructs a causal diagram of IP risks systemfor inter-firms cooperative innovation, and establishes a dynamic model of the system of IPrisks in cooperative innovation. This paper investigates100of the top enterprise managers,who have involved in cooperative innovation in Shanxi province and uses the Vensimsoftware to do effectiveness test and simulation study for the system dynamics model ofintellectual property risk in cooperative innovation.Through the simulation study, this paper finds: the cooperative time is longer, and IPrisks faced by all parties are on the decline. The social protection consciousness of intellectualproperty rights in the external environment factors has the greatest effect on the risk, the levelof economic development the minimum; The flow frequency of the employees in the mainfactor has the greatest effect on the risk, cooperation motivation the minimum; the cost toobtain and maintain intangible assets has the greatest effect on the risk, the clarity of theclassification and measurement of intangible assets the minimum.
