Abstract


Supply chain finance is a new mode of fast growing financing business. And it isone of the hot issues of academic research as well. As supply chain being the leadingmode of production and manufacturing for enterprises, financing has become a keyfactor restricting the supply chain’s operational efficiency. To meet the need ofminimizing the financial cost of supply chain, financial institutions can providecomprehensive financial services solutions for enterprises in supply chain throughSupply Chain Finance.However, the existing system of credit risk management can’t be applied to SupplyChain Finance well. And the financial institutions lack of specialized method of creditapproval and system of credit rating for this financing mode. To solve the problemsexisting in credit risk management in this financing mode, it is necessary to have a deepresearch on system and method of credit risk management of Supply Chain Finance.This paper is about study on corporate credit risk assessment of Supply ChainFinance form the perspective of the financial institutions. Firstly, on the basis ofanalysis of Supply Chain Finance’s background, the paper elaborates its concept,characteristics, three main financing modes and the differences between the traditionalfinancing. Then, it carries a comparative analysis of the existing methods of credit riskassessment based on the understanding of the concept and characteristics of the creditrisk. Secondly, the paper analyzes the sources and factors of credit risk for financingenterprise from five different levels: the industry environment, the core enterprise insupply chain, the supply chain and the financing-supported assets. On the basis ofqualitative analysis, it selects indexes from used indexes in related literatures by meansof frequency statistics, experts’ advices and correlation analysis. At the same time, itdesigns an index system to identify sources and types of credit risk in Supply ChainFinance. Thirdly, by taking China’s photovoltaic industry listed companies as samples,this paper establishes a credit risk assessment model after factor analysis and regressionanalysis, which can be used to measure the degree of credit risk in Supply ChainFinance. According to the result of regression analysis, it reveals that the quality of financing-supported assets, quality and credit conditions of financing company, the coreenterprise’s credit level, the overall operational efficiency of the supply chain andoperating capacity of financing company are domain factors, which have an influenceon financing enterprise’s credit risk in Supply Chain Finance. Finally, it simulates andverifies the model of credit risk assessment constructed in this paper by case study.
