Abstract


Red tourism, just as the name implies, is the combination of red and tourism. Red is thecontent, while tourism is the form. It is a special tourism form under the association ofChinese special history stage and modern society development. It has outstanding Chinesecharacteristics. Red tourism dates from the late of1990s, followed by a series of revolutionarymemory activities. Its popularity swept over the whole country, especially the formalimplement of the law, The Developing Plan Outline of National Red Tourism from2004to2010, has promoted the red tourism to its top. Now The Developing Plan Outline of NationalRed Tourism from2011to2015has been put into use for two years. The second Plan not onlyconcluded the results of the first one, but also noticed the problems during the development ofthe red tourism. Meanwhile it put forward some specific measures, which led the red tourismto the sustainable new stage.Shijiazhuang lies in the mid-north of Hebei, surrounding the Bohai economic zone, whichhas a distance of283kilometers to Beijing. It includes6states,12countries,5state-citiesand a national high technology develop state. It covers an area of15.848kilometers, and has apopulation of9,600,000. Shijiazhuang owns rich red tourism resources. Shijiazhuang has twoin the12National Main Red Tourism Zones. One is Tai Hang Red Tourism which takes Hebeiand Shanxi as main provinces. The other is Jin Jing Ji Red Tourism Zones Which takesBeijing and Tianjin as the main provinces. Besides, Shijiazhuang also has rich and high-gradegreen tourism resources, old color tourism resources, new cities tourism resources and so on.All this has the advantages to combine with the red tourismThis context has a detailed analysis about the present situation of Shijiazhuang’s redtourism not only using the concept of tourism system, but also based on the tourist market,travel status, the present situation of destination and the supporting system. On this base, thereis a SWOT analysis about Shijiazhuang’s red tourism, which implies that Shijiazhuang’s redtourism has the characteristics of having rich resources, full kinds of patterns, higher gradeand concentrated distribution. Besides, it has the advantage of combining with other tourism resources. Shijiazhuang lies in the economic circles of Beijing and Bohai. It has theconvenient transportation and strong regional advantage. However, Shijiazhuang’s redtourism still stays at the primary stage, so it has many problems, such as each departmentacting on it’s own, the bad management, less developed transportation, the shortage ofindustrial factors and the professional labors, and the week marketing strength. While meetingthe chance coming from the central and state leaders’ highly attention, Shijiazhuang’s redtourism is also facing many challenges coming from other provinces. It’s own shortage of theconstruction for basic equipment and tourism service also contribute to the challenge.According to the analysis above, the strategy of the sustainable development in red tourismhas been put forward. First of all, the government will make a plan for the red tourism inorder to contribute to the consistent management. Besides we should pay attention to thecomprehensive development of the red tourism resources and the others. As for the detaileddevelopment models, we can consider “the Red and Green”“the Red and Old”“the Red andNew” and “the Red and traditional”. In marketing management, we should strengthen themarketing according to the customers’ market. While we are using the traditional marketingmethods we should add some new methods. Such as network marketing and art workmarketing. Besides, we should improve the infrastructural construction and the quality oftourism service facilities, and strengthen the environmental construction. At last we shouldencourage more community residents to participate in it. Only by this can we truly realize thesustainable development of the red tourism.
