With the advent of modern service economy era, the development of modern service industry has become an important way to accelerate economic modernization and enhance regional competitiveness. Yuhua District of Changsha City, as the only modern service integrated pilot area in central China, has a strong lead in the development of the exemplary role model. This article studies the industry choice and spatial layout of modern service industry of Yuhua District, and provides a reference for the development of modern service levels of other counties.In this article, the author firstly defines the connotation and denotation of modern service industry on the basis of a summary of a comprehensive study on the concept of the modern service industry, economy, space, innovation and development home and abroad, and summarizes the modern service industry in the domestic and international stage, evolution, industrialization, servitization and other aspects of economic development theory, and expounds a spatial layout theory in the aspects of the service level, the gradient distribution, the agglomeration process and the "center-periphery" model and explains its practical significance.Then, the author takes the Yuhua district in Changsha as an example and studies the modern service industry and its spatial layout. Firstly, the article analyzes the feasibility of Yuhua District, the development of modern service industry with the method of location quotient, and elaborates the necessity further to enhance the development of modern service industry in the sight of production, growth, employment and efficiency. According to the practical situation, the author gives a summary of the advantages, weaknesses, opportunities and threats circumstances of Yuhua District at the current developing stage. Secondly, by using the method of mathematical statistics like Porter’s diamond theory binding factor analysis from the perspective of the comprehensive competitiveness of the region and taking the strategic objectives of national macro trends and the development of open services into account, the author gets group characteristics of Yuhua District modern service industry. Furthermore, by drawing and analyzing Yuhua District modern service density distribution, the article summarizes its current space layout problems, and according to the gathering preferences of the modern services industry and the GIS spatial overlay analysis of the relevant factors, the author got the most suitable areas for the development of leading modern service industry and not only elected cooperation development with growth and radiation, industrial agglomeration center, but also gave a new development plan on the space of modern service industry with detail.Finally, the author sums up the development and construction initiatives of the modern service industry in Yuhua District from the perspective of innovation and development policy, cluster development direction, service development environment, and the competition and cooperation relationship.
