Abstract

As we all know, the American educational system in a leading position in the world. However, poor quality and quantity of teacher shortage problem has been a bottleneck in American education. In rural areas, the problem is more prominent place performance. To effectively solve this problem, and promote the development of rural education, some universities from the United States in the 1970s began to implement a dedicated rural teachers training program for rural training to adapt to the characteristics of the rural teaching environments and specialized tasks teachers. After nearly 40 years of exploration, the U.S. rural teachers training program has made great progress, and accumulated a lot of valuable experience. In contrast, China's rural school teachers are also facing serious problems of quantity and quality. How to train outstanding rural teachers in the country is imminent. Therefore, rural teachers training program for U.S. research both in theory and in practice has practical significance. However, Chinese scholars in this area has yet to have a more in-depth research, this thesis rural teachers training program in the United States as an object of study, in order to be able to do a more in-depth and its comprehensive study. Specifically, the objective of this study is to clarify the U.S. rural teachers training program proposed in the background, elaborate teacher training program in rural America the status of implementation, and on the basis of analysis of the U.S. rural teachers training program characteristics, effectiveness and challenges. Besides the introduction and conclusion, the body consists of the following five chapters: Chapter One: American rural teachers training program proposed in the background. This chapter focuses on the particularity of rural teaching environment, teachers in rural areas the problems of rural education development of teacher education requests that three aspects of teacher training programs in rural America's background. Chapter II: American rural teachers training program implementation status quo. This chapter begins with the type of training program, objectives, admission criteria, funding sources, and the implementation of model curriculum for training programs in these areas the status of implementation were introduced. Chapter III: American rural teachers training program case studies.
