Abstract


Logistics distribution is considered as "the third profit source" except the two existent sources of profits, including the reduction of material consumption and the increase of labor productivity, which can bring the enterprise and society a great economic and social benefits. Storage is the key to logistics decision-making, and the proportion of storage cost is higher than others. Therefore, the optimization of logistics transport to reduce transport cost is an effective way for the enterprises, especially the logistics distribution enterprises to improve the competitiveness. Edible salt is an ancient and special industries, and it is an exclusive commodity controlled by the state. In the franchise policy, the market share is saturated. And how to open up a new salt business profit growth and how to meet requirements on the development of the salt enterprise which is asked by market-oriented economy is a burning question to salt enterprises. It is a new topic on salt marketing to study and explore the modern salt logistics actively. Recently, the edible salt logistics distribution network of Jiangsu salt company exists many questions,such as reasonable division of sales areas, complicated transport links, irrationality setting of distribution centers, empty transit and circuitous transshipment. The research on the modernization project of Jiangsu edible salt logistics is of benefit to improve the competitiveness and economic returns of Jiangsu Salt Industry. Study and accelerate the modernization reform of salt logistics system, and build a modern Salt Industry model would be of importance to resolve the contradictions and problems existing in edible salt logistics, improve and consolidate the edible salt monopoly system, and ensure the supply and popularization of qualified iodized salt.This paper introduces the background of the topics, the purpose and significance, the basic framework, and the situation both at home and abroad. It discusses the logistics theory, the recent status and the significance of developing modern logistics, and analyzes the situation and problems of Jangsu salt industry logistics. Besides, it outlines the effect of Jangsu salt industry in regional economy, and explains the effect of inducting modern logistics into salt logistics system, and the necessity and strengths of developing modern Jiangsu salt logistics. Thereby, the paper puts forward the preparatory solution of Jiangsu salt logistics modernization plan, defines the principle of plans,and the aim of edible salt modernization drive, and gets a deep study in the content of planning solution and the countermeasure of logistics modernization. It gives advices that the enterprise should build logistics distribution system, optimize edible salt supply chain, abridge salt allocateand-transport cycle, promote it chain operation, and improve the informatization management level and supporting measures. In order to enhance edible salt logistics efficiency, reduce logistics cost, guarantee qualified salt supplying, and promote Jiangsu salt logistics modernization to support the development of regional economy, this paper makes a proposal of rebuilding edible salt logistics modernization for Jiangsu salt industry company by this research.
