Abstract

This paper introduces the experiment on the removal of sulfur dioxide and nitric oxide by ozone oxidation from the flue gas. In the process of ozone oxidation of sulfur dioxide, the parameters such as the catalyst type, catalyst concentrations, mole ratio of O3 to SO2, residence time, absorption liquid temperature and so on were studied, which influenced SO2 removal efficiency. The results show that Mn2+ has the best catalytic acitivity. Under the optimum conditions such as Mn2+ concentration 6.45x10-4 mol/L, the absorption liquid temperature 20℃, residence time 2.12s and mole ratio of O3 to SO21:1, the removal efficiency of SO2 achieved 99%. At the same time, the mechanism of O3 catalytic oxidation of SO2 by Mn2+ was investigated in the experiments. In the experiment of ozone oxidation nitric oxide, the parameters which affected NO removal efficiency were also investigated, which included residence time, NO initial concentration, absorbing liquid temperature, sodium carbonate concentration, mole ratio of O3 to NO, potassium permanganate concentration and so on. Under the optimum conditions, NO removal efficiency can reach 83.39%, and the best conditions are as follows:residence time 4.82s, absorbing liquid temperature 20℃, NO initial concentration 600mg/m3, concentration 0.04 mol/L, KMnO4 concentration 1.716x10-2 mol/L and [O3]/[NO]=2:1.
