Abstract


Steel application for sucker rod is kind of structural alloy steel which is commonly applied in the field of oil exploitation process. With the repid development of petroleum industry, more and more researchers are striving in the aspects of organization and performance to improve the steel application for sucker rod ,to develop the new grade of steel for sucker rod, longer the working life and create better economic contribution.This paper focuses on 25CrMoA steel of sucker rod. various grade rare earth have been added, various RE content 25CrMoA-RE sucker rod steel are produced through the procedure of vacuum melting and cooling. With the help of spectral analyzing, metallographic microstructure observing, electrochemistry testing, scanning electron microscopy and energy spectrum analysis, to research the influences of organization and corrosion resistance performance caused by adding various RE content to 25CrMoA sucker rod steel.Experiments and analysis indicate that: By adding rare earth into 25CrMoA steel, which lead to purified liquid steel, declining sulphur content, and the purity grade of 25CrMoA steel is obviously improved. RE obviously refines the 25CrMoA steel organization, and the caststated grain structure of experimental steel is gradually refining as the increases of the RE content, however, the refining function of the organization influenced by RE content is limited, once beyond the limitation, the deteriorative effect may replace the refining function of organization. RE degenerate into impurities in steel, and turn to be high melting point impurities which are ellipsoid or spherical.In the electrochemistry experiments of corrosion performance, the adding of RE improve the corrosion resistant performance of 25CrMoA steel. While the RE content is 0.150%, the experimental steel corrosion resistant performance is best among all the tests, however, excessive addition of RE will decrease the corrosion performance of 25CrMoA steel.
