Abstract


As China’s economic development and cultural diversity , Insecurities in schools have further increased. And there have been many new features and circumstances in security management of schools. Especially for the primary and secondary students, they are easy to be the main victims. Security management in primary and secondary schools is facing unprecedented challenges and has become the most important part in school management. School security issues have become the important topics of the world education research. Domestic and foreign scholars have carried out a number of fruitful researches on it. Most of them focus on making a series of institutions and policies on the basis of macro research or qualitative analysis, or on taking a school or an event as the main target to carry out case study. But few of them carry out quantitative analysis and systematic study for certain types of schools in an area, moreover to set down security management methods and systems which conform to the actual situation of schools in various regions. By investigating and studying security management of primary and secondary schools in Furong District, this project aims at summing up valuable experience, finding shortcomings, analyzing the underlying causes and proposing measures for improvement to further enhance the level of security management of primary and secondary schools in Furong District. At the same time, it can provide the real basis and valuable experience for security management of China’s urban primary and secondary schools and contribute to the establishment of a sound school security management system. This project adopts a variety of data collection methods like questionnaire method, interview method and field survey method in order to carry out a comprehensive survey of 33 primary and secondary schools in Furong District. This project mainly adopts questionnaire method to carry out the research and adapts Epi Data 3.0 Software to establish a database after checking up and processing the survey data. Then it comes to an objective, comprehensive and real parameter by adapting SPSS 12.0 Software to statistically analyze the data. Next the researcher integrates the results of other research analysis. Further it comes to a conclusion on the aspects of the management situation, valuable experience, security risks and deficiencies, reasons about Class Size and Campus Safety, Building and Facility Security, Food and Drinking Safety, Road and Traffic Safety, Schools Circumference Safety, Safety Regulations, Safety Education and Training. Finally by combining the theory and practice, the researcher proposes the effective measures and recommendations on how to improve the security management of primary and secondary schools in Furong District. Consequently, it can provide valuable experience and scientific basis to better safeguard the safety of teachers and students in primary and secondary schools and improve the quality of school security management.
