Abstract


Digital technology has a wide range of impacts on broadcast media. Different scholars are concerned on different aspects on it. Some scholars are devoted to the exploring of the subversive impact of digital technology exerted o broadcast, and others focus on the analysis of how digital technologies lead to the revolution of broadcast. And there are also some scholars who study the changes in the broadcasting market. Based on these concrete studies, with the use of related theoretical results in science and society (STS), and with the attempt to combine the study of STS with communication studies, a comprehensive analysis on the impact of digital technology on broadcast will be done in this thesis.In this study, theoretical analyses have been adopted to define the concepts of "broadcast media", "digital technologies" and "digital broadcasting". The relationship between digital technology and broadcast has been analyzed by a systematical analysis method, In terms of technological perspective, the researcher aimed to comb the history of broadcasting. Based on this point, the impulsion on broadcast media influenced by digital technology has been analyzed by digital technology, by the analysis towards "broadcast theory", "broadcast mode", "broadcast" and "broadcasting market, ". In the mean time, in my thesis, the challenge for digital time and broadcast media to face has been analyzed systematically. The researcher made an anatomy to the sources of this challenge, and advanced the development-orientation for the digital time in China for the future.In this thesis, in terms of new media, radio operation, on-line "free broadcasting radio station", "interest groups", difficult groups, negative impact, the researcher revealed the challenge faced by broadcast media nowadays.The researcher theoretically elaborated the source why broadcast media has been challenged from the perspective with the paradox of broadcasting "mouthpiece" and the press freedom, as well as the conflict between broadcasting media supported by government and market-type operations. Thus, the researcher put forward an orientation for the development of digital time with a "China Model", which is a basis for the discussion for the coping strategies towards the development of broadcasting media.Through the analysis, the researcher get the conclusions as follows:Firstly, digital technology impacts on broadcasting in many aspects; Secondly, digital broadcasting challenges to China broadcasting in many aspects; Thirdly, there are many reasons to result in a violent shock of Digital broadcasting; Fourthly, China broadcasting should located reasonably its position in order to response the challenge of digital broadcasting. In this thesis, the researcher has done a systematical summary to the results acquired by domestic and abroad research on digital broadcasting. By the use of relevant theoretical knowledge, the researchers built up an embryonic form for the development of digital broadcasting. This study not only expanded and deepened the study on STS, but also came into a practical significance for the healthy development of digital time. This study provides a valuable reference for broadcasting stations to promote digital broadcasting.
