Abstract


In this paper, the backbone of the wireless remote meter reading system based on GPRS network , the system uses GPRS communication , remote monitoring and control unit terminal ( RTU ) and water meter end radio frequency ( RF ) communication . By extending the RF module RTU side RF wireless LAN , water, electricity meters , gas meters indoor integrated meter to a meter reading management system . This article focuses on the design of meter reading system RTU RF communication protocol design and the host computer management system design . RTU GPRS module , RF module , LCD module and a microprocessor . GPRS and RF modules through serial communication with the CPU , the RTU uses two PIC18F452 microprocessor , which is also beneficial to the extended the RTU end of storage space . RF communication protocol designed primarily to define the format of the communication data packet , CRC checksum achieve automatic error correction function and the realization of the packet is sent , the receiving process . The host computer management system design including the design of the database and application design . SOL Server 2000 relational database , the application to access the database using ADO ( Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects ) . Applications using Visual C 6.0 of MFC implementation . The entire management system to achieve the user information management capabilities , automatic meter reading function , the database query , print, and data export functions .
