Abstract


With the rapid development of economic globalization and the further deepening of international division of labor, textile and clothing industry is transforming from labor-intensive industry to the innovation, creativity intensive industry. Coinciding with it, the pattern of global textile and apparel trade is evolving. At present, our country’s textile and apparel trade pattern is mainly OEM with low value-added. Because of the rising labor costs,RMB continued appreciation and the neighboring developing countries’increased competition, this trade pattern can not adapt to the requirements of the international division of labor’s further deepening.Based on the study of the evolution of China trade patterns, the paper from theperspective of knowledge creation in“learning by doing”. Through the literature and analysis, built a“learning by doing”Factors and Performance Analysis Framework, study the four knowledge creation link of“learning by doing”"from the OEM, ODM and OBM three stagesand puts forward hypothesis. through the establishment of an empirical analysis of structural equation model as an example for the textile and garment export companies in Zhejiang.The empirical result indicates that, 1.“learning by doing”has significantly positive effects on business performance; the enterprise characteristic has significantly positive effects on“learning by doing”and enterprise performance.2. Four link of“learning by doing”in promoting the evolution of trade patterns is indispensable. Overall,“learning by doing”process presents“two weak, intermediate strength”in the evolution of China’s trade pattern. 3. The amplitude of“learning by doing”four link in the promotion trade patterns evolution is narrow, showing the trend of dynamic equilibrium. This study found help explain the reality that China’s textile and clothing based OEM and lack of world brand.The recommendations to accelerate the evolution of China’s textile and clothing trade patterns as follows: 1. Correctly grasp the focus of“learning by doing”in the evolution of trade patterns. 2. Accelerate the construction of the enterprise as the main mechanism of knowledge creation. 3. To create innovation policy environment that support the OEM transform to ODM,OBM.
