In society today is widely used in optical fiber communication system , the expansion of transmission capacity , improvement of transmission speed , transmission distance , the extension of both the optical fiber loss, nonlinear effects, the dispersion effect is closely related . With the development of passive optical network (PON) and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology , optical fiber dispersion and nonlinear effects became the main factors currently limit light pulse signal transmission rate and transmission distance in optical fiber communication systems . Critical due to the four-wave mixing in nonlinear effects such as fiber dispersion can be effectively suppressed , and therefore the optical fiber communication system upgrade expansion will be mainly concentrated in the dispersion problem , but in the high rate, large capacity optical fiber communication system among a plurality of channels , also only effective dispersion compensation in order to meet the requirements of the communication system further transmission . This paper focuses on the application of dispersion compensating fiber dispersion compensation in optical fiber communication systems , during which the main work is as follows : First , the basic principles of passive optical network introduces and analyzes the status quo of the devices in the high-speed WDM-PON optical fiber communication systems ; Second, the analysis a dispersion compensating fiber method . Relatively speaking , the dispersion compensation fiber method has many advantages . Dispersion compensation for high-speed , ultra-long-haul high-capacity optical fiber communication systems and the most promising of a technical solution ; Finally , through simulation software , simulation dispersion compensating fiber transmission 10Gb / s WDM-PON system access system performance, to give a good effect . The simulation results show that the DCF length of 1 km , to transmit 30-70 km distance , the bit error rate of a certain size , it was very good transmission effect , then increased dispersion fiber length of 2 km transmission distance can be further increased , the transmission effect preferably , thereby to meet the needs of users of different distances within a certain region .
