Abstract


Banking Industry plays an extremely important role in the modern economy, especially in the developing China. With the eruption of the financial crisis, the banking industry is facing the new trend and gestating the huge potential of development in global context. China as a big developing economy provides domestic banks a lot of opportunities to develop. The local commercial banks, particularly the medium and small banks which have good characteristics and good sense of marketing have excellent investment value. We need the systematic analysis framework and valuation method to locate the potential investment underlying.This dissertation analyzes the future developing trend and the impact of macro economy on the banking industry. I analyze the business characteristic of the Industrial Bank and found the bank created its own brands and has competitive advantage on treasury business, institutional banking and wholesale banking business. Further analysis was taken through CAMEL framework, and we found the Industrial Bank has sufficient capital, good quality of assets, excellent management, rapidly growth of net income and good liquidity in medium and long tenor. After the fundamental analysis, the relative and absolute valuation methods were used to pricing the intrinsic value per share of the Industrial Bank.The banking industry is a high risk profile business; the risk management should always be the important part of daily management. The dissertation gives a simple analysis on the risk management of Industrial Bank. Finally, some suggestion on future development and corporate value enhancement of the bank were given. Based on the Chinese economy has huge growth potential, industry background, Industrial Bank’s good fundamental situation and characteristics. And colligating the benefits Industrial Banks will have under the development of West Straits of China and multi-stage DDM valuation result. We can conclude that the Industrial Bank is a valuable company with investment grade.
