Abstract


The insufficient domestic consumption demand has been an increasingly prominent problem in China’s economic and social development. The outstanding problem of agriculture, countryside and peasant (ACP) is the main obstacle that constrains domestic consumption demand. This paper reveals the influence of the lag level of population urbanization on the "ACP" problem and domestic consumption demand, analyzes the mechanism of accelerating population urbanization on expanding domestic consumption demand, researches the relationship between population urbanization and consumption demand through co-integration analysis and Granger-causality test and gathers concerned data of some typical countries to verify the relationship. On the base of summarizing the experiences and lessons of population urbanization development in foreign countries such as South Korea, the United States, Japan and so on, we give some countermeasures about through promoting population urbanization reasonably to expand the domestic consumption demand.
