Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a quantitative and qualitative analysis tool of environmental impact caused by life cycle of products, techniques and activities. The objective of LCA is to assess the influence on the environment from resource consuming and waste releasing, search opportunities of environmental impact improvement, in addition how to use this kind of opportunity. This paper was based on the traditional life cycle assessment methods, discussed a set of life cycle assessment system for industrial wastewater treatment plants. This paper determined the objective and scope of pharmaceutical industrial wastewater treatment plants, inventory analysis, impact assessment and life cycle assessment explanation. Determined the objective and scope of research; analyzed the input and the output of the whole LCA process, and processed the scene and monitoring analysis, obtained and modified inventory analysis data; according to the environmental impact assessment model, reckoned environmental impact potential, data characterization, weighting assessment. Then we obtained the total environmental impact charge value at last. Explaned the whole LCA process based on the impact assessment results, assessed the quality of the data and the integrity and reliability of assessment process. Then got the conclusion, and offered reasonable suggestion in the end.Home and abroad at present, there is none systematic research for the whole life cycle assessment impact of industrial wastewater treatment plants. Although they play an important role in industrial wastewater treatment, they affect resource consuming, environment and human health in a certain extent. According to this research, we could build a set of complete industrial wastewater treatment plants life cycle assessment pattern, find out the node of resource consuming, environment, human health influence caused of wastewater plants, and the new improve method, offer references for newly-built and built wastewater treatment plants at the same time, which would be in favour of building more eco-friendly, economic, sustainable development industrial wastewater treatment plants.
