Abstract


In recent years, power grid companies have been established the huge core net-work in optical fiber communication, which extended cover each power station, and formed electric dispatching system of power generation, transmission and substation. But distribution communication is always a weak links in electric network recently, which restricted the realization of the power distribution automation seriously. We have experienced this several stages of Electricity lines carrier, Wireless communica-tion, and the popular optical fiber communication in the distribution network commu-nication system construction of the past. But judging from the actual use and grid safety etc., the optical fiber communication is easily the best way to realize distribu-tion automation and smart distribution network.According to the business and characteristics of distribution automation system, this paper analyzes communication infrastructure needs of distribution automation (smart distribution grid) system, and introduces the optical fiber to the network com-munication system and equipment of last two generations, and analyzes the advantag-es and disadvantages, based on the trajectory of development of power distribution automation in a city. This paper introduces the two branches under the Ethernet tech-nology areas, Ethernet passive optical network and Industrial Ethernet technology. Based on the test data of industrial Ethernet switches and passive optical network equipment in the power distribution automation system supporting communication engineering in a city power supply bureau,2010, we will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the core technology, and concluded the Application applicability and sophistication of Ethernet passive optical network and Industrial Ethernet technology in the distribution automation system, and point out the existing problems and im-proving direction, and put forward specific solutions of power distribution automa-tion(smart distribution network) system in communication with industrial Ethernet technology and Ethernet passive optical network technology systemfinally.
