The production of fixtures and tools for aviation has the characteristics of single-piece and varieties, and it is difficult to manage because of frequent change in design and technology. Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a solution of production management on the workshop level in the enterprise, and it could improve the production management of fixtures and tools. There are a lot of business data in the process of manage the production of fixtures and tools by MES, and it has important theoretical significance and application value to do some research on how to change those business data into valuable information by filtration, induction and comprehensive analysis, which could provide decision support for production manager.In this paper, firstly, the characteristics of fixtures and tools production and the basic concept of MES is introduced, and the knowledge requirement in MES of fixtures and tools is discussed as well, at the same time, the paper describes research and application on MES at home and abroad, and presents the knowledge acquisition and its current situation. Secondly, based on the introduction of the business treatment process of MES of fixtures and tools, the knowledge requirement of MES of fixtures and tools is analyzed, and the classification and comparison of the knowledge is made, meanwhile, the paper expounds in detail the function of each item in the structure tree which describes the knowledge requirement in MES of fixtures and tools. In the view of the acquiring methods of knowledge, the knowledge acquisition in MES of fixtures and tools is divided into three kinds, and the algorithm design of each kind is designed. According to the acquisition of rules, the method of data mining based on association rules is selected, and the conventional Aprior algorithm is improved. Finally, on the basis of the structure tree which describes the knowledge requirement in MES of fixtures and tools, correlation modules of the system is developed, and tested with real data.
