Research on the Variation Law of Corn Silage Nutritional Composition and Fungal under Different Storage Periods

Experimental material was corn stalks of the breed Nongda108. Whole-plant corn silage was made with 89 days growth whole-plane corn and corn straw silage with 125 days growth corn straw. Both silos were opened in 50 days. Sensory evaluation, proximate nutrients analysis, fermentation quality analysis, fungal count and preliminary identification were conducted for the two silages of seven different periods of storage(storing time from 50 to 290-day), for studying the variation law of corn silage nutritional quality and activity of mould, so as to provide scientific basis for the better utilization of silage and the control of mould. The results were as follows:1. Sensory evaluation for corn silage under different storage periods in opened siloResults of sensory evaluation of corn silage were: whole-plant corn silage prior to 180 days in storage and the corn straw silage prior to 95 days in storage, sensory identification results were excellent; whole-plant corn silage in the 185 ~ 290-day storage period, the corn straw silage in the 140 ~ 260 days of storage period for good-quality change; corn stalk silage in the 260 ~ 290-day storage period for the general quality of the change.2. Change of main nutrients of corn silage under different storage periods in opened siloDuring in the 50~290 days storage after opened, there was an upward trend of the contents of DM, NDF, ADF,ADL in both two silage, while the downward trend of the contents of CP, starch, Ca and P.3. Change of fermentation quality of corn silage under different storage periods in opened siloDuring in the storage after opened, there was an downward trend of the fermentation quality. pH value and the value of NH3-N of both two silage turned up, the total organic acids turned downward. Lactic acid are relatively low, to the storage of 290 days, lactic acid in both two kinds of silage were lower than the acetic acid content, the two are not always detected in butyric acid.4. Change of the total number of mould in corn silage and and the identification of toxin-producing mouldDuring in the 50~290 days storage after opened, corn silage mould attached to the number of the extension of storage time with the rapid increase in the degree of increased non-performing fermentation. After separation, purification and morphological identification, five toxin-producing fungi were found, they were as follows: Fusarium species of F.moniliforme; Penicillium genus P. viridicatum; Aspergillus of A. flavus, A. ochraceus and A. nidulans. F.moniliforme which is predominant mould, followed by A. flavus, P. viridicatum, A. ochraceus and A. nidulans distributed less.5. Change of toxin of corn silage under different storage periods in opened siloDuring in the 50~290 days storage after opened, the content of AFB1 and ZEN in corn silage turned up. AFB1 content is proposed to feed into the quality of the evaluation criteria for silage: the highest AFB1 limit of the silage dry matter is 50μg / kg.
