Abstract


Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics and prognosis of triple-negative breast cancer and to understand it characteristics of Chinese people. Methods:Clinical data of 333 patients with his topathologically confirmed resectable and can be surgically removed breast cancer, treated at Xinjiang tumor hospital from Jan. 2002 to Dec 2003, were analyzed .The expression of ER、PR and Her-2 was tested by PV9000 immunohis- tochemistry method.It was divided into triple-negative breast cancer and non-triple negative breast cancer groups.Clinical characteristics、recurrence and metastasis and 5-year disease-free rate were compared between two groups.Results:Of the 333 patients, 82 ( 24.62%) were confirmed to be triple -negative breast cancer. The lymph node positive rate patients in triple negative breast cancer patients than in non-triple negative breast cancer patients P = 0.042. By follow-up date, Of the 82 triple -negative breast cancer patients , 21(25.61%) had recurrence and metastasis , and Of the 251 non-triple-negative breast cancer patients , 38(15.14%) had recurrence and metastasis.The rates is higher in triple -negative breast cancer patients(P=0.044). Compared to the non-triple-negative breast cancer group, the hazard rates of distant metastasis in the triple negative breast cancer group is 2.041(P=0.015), the hazard rates of lung metastasis is 2.551(P=0.036). the hazard rates of recurrence and metastasis risk in 3 years after surgery is 1.948(P=0.042 ).Survival analysis showed that 5-year disease-free rates of triple negative breast cancer is 74.4% and of non- triple-negative breast cancer is 84.9%.The comparison of two curves : Log rank = 4.492, P = 0.034.Conclusion: The positive rate of lymph nodes is higher in the triple-negative breast cancer .The risk of recurrence and metastasis is higher in the triple-negative breast cancer, mainly performed that the risk of distant metastasis is higher. The Specific performance is that the risk of lung metastasis is higher in the triple-negative breast cancer ,and the risk of recurrence and metastasis is high in 3 years after surgery. The 5-year disease-free survival rate was lower in triple -negative breast cancer patients than in non-triple-negative breast cancer patients. It has poor clinical prognosis.
