Abstract


Objective To study the wolfberry polysaccharides (LBP) on the role of osteoporosis in ovariectomized rats , to explore its possible mechanism of action . Methods two -month-old female SD experiment 50 rats were randomly divided into five groups of sham group , castration saline group , castration wolfberry polysaccharide high dose group , the castration wolfberry polysaccharides low dose group , castration diethylstilbestrol group , 10 in each group . 10 weeks after administration of postoperative conventional breeding intervention, drug intervention 12 weeks after femoral shaft weight measurement , bone mineral density test bone was observed morphological changes of the bone of the ultrastructural changes , measure the serum level of NO . Statistical software in SPSS1.0 . Results Compared with castration saline group , castration wolfberry polysaccharide high dose group , the castration low dose group could increase the ovariectomized SD rat femoral shaft weight , BMD , serum levels of NO , light microscope, the two groups trabecular bone structure is more complete , better continuity absorption lacunae . High castration wolfberry polysaccharide , low dose compared with castration diethylstilbestrol : rat femoral shaft weight , low bone mineral density and serum NO level light microscope than thin trabecular continuity poor absorption lacunae more. Castration wolfberry polysaccharide high -dose group and low dose group of castration wolfberry polysaccharide rat femoral shaft BMD and serum levels of NO were no significant differences . Sham group compared with the other groups , the rat femoral shaft weight , BMD , serum NO levels were higher than the other groups , the light microscope : trabecular bone than other groups stout , dark stain , no fracture , no absorption lacunae . Conclusion 1 wolfberry polysaccharide has a therapeutic effect on the osteoporosis of ovariectomized rats . 24 % wolfberry polysaccharides and 2% less than wolfberry polysaccharide effect in the treatment of osteoporosis of ovariectomized rats diethylstilbestrol . 34 % wolfberry polysaccharides and 2% wolfberry polysaccharide effect in the treatment of osteoporosis of ovariectomized rats , there was no significant statistical significance . Osteoporosis of ovariectomized rats in vitro injection of diethylstilbestrol , or 4% of the wolfberry polysaccharide and 2% wolfberry polysaccharides have osteoporosis therapeutic effect , but can not achieve a complete cure . 5 wolfberry polysaccharides can enhance the ovariectomized rat serum NO levels increase in serum levels of NO may be one of the mechanisms to improve osteoporosis .
