Abstract


According to some material and data, volleyball elective course which is an important required curriculum was particularly welcomed by college girls .However, the teaching effect was not in accordance with the students’enthusiasm and interest due to girls’distinguishing feature of physiology and psychology. Most of girl students felt the volleyball sports as a hard work and a discontent after they learned it .In the background of overall quality-oriented education and far-reaching teaching reform in universities and colleges , how to make the volleyball sports wider accepted and better satisfy the girl students’exercise need attaches great importance to building a solid foundation of health for girl students so as to meet the goals of physical education in the new era .With adoption of the documentary, comparison, expert interview, questionnaire and mathematic statistics, the paper analyzes the present situation of volleyball elective courses for girl student in Gansu Universities and Colleges. Furthermore, through the investigation ,to the data which obtains using the common factor withdraws the principal components ,the thesis analyzes the factors that affects the teaching effects of volleyball elective courses for girl student and proposes the reform viewpoints based on the present situation in Gansu Province .The data indicates that the college girl students prefers volleyball sports to basketball and football games in Gansu Province, but the number of students who choose volleyball elective courses in the end is smaller .Even the students who chose the course felt less interest after a while ;the structure of the volleyball teachers are not balanced , the quantity of teachers with high record of education is low , the proportion of young and middle aged is high ;the volleyball playground in Gansu Universities and Colleges is able to meet the need of teaching and exercising but not reach the standard of the Department of Education ;the content of the teaching material chose from high education is old and doll which can not satisfy the need of exercise for college girl student ;the exam way is not science and don’t consider the student’s individual difference; the quanality choosing the elective course appears the lower tendency due to the backwardness of economic in Gansu which leads to the less activity after class. In conclusion, the present situation of volleyball elective courses for girl student in Gansu Universities and Colleges is not able to serve the need of the students and have to reform and innovate .According to the need of social development, universities and colleges development, health education and quality-oriented education, from the angel of the filling of teaching content ,the improvement of the teaching technique ,etc, the paper proposed some reform suggestions .
