Abstract


With the development of multimedia technology , the development of electronic dictionaries from only a simple translation query function to multifunction smart PDA , which requires for its development of a more advanced file system to manage a large number of files . But because of the increasing storage capacity , before the prevalence of the FAT file system has been unable to meet the demand , so Microsoft has developed the NTFS file system based on the Windows operating system performance and stability for all to see . Article first principle of operation to the VFS virtual file system from the underlying disk describes the working mechanism of the file system , then the NTFS -depth study its logical partitions BOOTSECTOR, and a detailed introduction to the use of Note . Next detail the development of electronic dictionaries in the NTFS file system . The first is based on the algorithm and operation of the NTFS file system in the Linux operating system as the basis for electronic dictionary underlying driver disk operation and interface functions to the application layer for transplant , file create , open , read and write , delete, search , Close and other functions . For backwards compatibility with FAT and DOS, to complete the conversion and add the file name of the file length ; complete decompression of NTFS compressed files to be compatible with WINDOWS . After the development is completed , the NTFS file system developed by a functional test and efficiency test , the test results show that the NTFS file system to achieve the various functions of the system requirements , including partitions are formatted, files and folders create , rename files , file read and write , file delete function , but also through the ultimate test proved that the development of the NTFS file system similar efficiency in the PC FAT , but NTFS is more stable and can handle larger disks . But the experiment also found that the operating efficiency of the NTFS file system is not very high , to solve this problem , the end of this paper the optimization strategy : block write part of the file to record the permanent memory , greatly improving the use of a new strategy the performance of the entire file system .
