Abstract

With the level of opening up the economy to improve, the national industrialization, urbanization, motorization increasingly accelerated, the city's traffic problems have become increasingly prominent, traffic jams occur frequently. Development of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) is the solution to urban transport problems is one effective way. In recent years, with the computer, communications and information technology, intelligent transportation systems have been a large number of applications, through the coil, infrared, ultrasound, video and other detectors, and GPS positioning technology to build a variety of traffic data collection system has been large number of applications. Although they have their own advantages, but the data obtained for each method itself contains feature has significant limitations, it is impossible with only one detection technology to get all the traffic information, it is impossible with only one kind of information collection methods to meet the needs of modern urban intelligent transportation all the data. Taking into account the rapid spread of mobile phones, but the phone itself more and more functions, this article will mobile communications technology with traditional traffic information collection technologies combine, is the use of mobile phone text messaging and mobile positioning function combining traffic information collection technologies to obtain than any other single method to capture richer information contains both static information and dynamic information, but also contains a variety of types of personnel information on travel behavior. This information is collected with other methods to combine information, to be more useful information. This information is processed effectively direct access to information, such as traffic information, travel information and other acts, for further transport planning and traffic control and management provide a strong basis. This paper analyzes the existing traffic information collection technology advantages and disadvantages, and the modern mobile communication systems and technologies are summarized. On this basis, this paper establishes a phone-based traffic information collection system, listing the physical structure of the system, software architecture and system workflow. In-depth analysis of mobile phone users to travel based on the characteristics, learn the advantages of traditional manual survey is designed based on SMS mobile phone users in gathering travel information embedded menu content, and the use of the Java language was developed based on J2ME traffic travel behavior information embedded software intelligence gathering, collecting travel information to achieve SMS functionality. By further mobile phone short message function and the combination of mobile location technology for traffic information collection and treatment in the average speed, traffic volume, traffic density, dynamic trip OD matrices, etc., and the use of average speed divided by the service indicator assess the level of real-time traffic. Finally, the case proved that traffic information collection method has the advantage.
