With the development of mobile communications , spectrum resources is increasingly tense , more efficient use of limited resources become important research directions in the field of wireless communications . Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology could not take up the additional bandwidth improve communication system capacity and spectrum efficiency , doubled . Space-time coding is a practical coding technique of the channel capacity of the information transfer rate approximation allows the MIMO system , this coding technique is based on the transmission signal in the spatial domain and the time domain are the introduction of joint-related , so that not only can obtain diversity gain and coding gain , and get a high spectral efficiency . Orthogonal space-time block codes (O-STBC) encoding and decoding method is simple , easy to implement , and the full diversity gain can be obtained , and now widely used in various wireless communication systems . Orthogonal space-time block codes in the number of transmit antennas greater than 2:00 coding rate is less than 1 , and can not guarantee the full rate of data transmission . One solution for this problem is to sacrifice some of orthogonality in exchange for full-rate quasi-orthogonal space -time block codes . This paper first describes the design criteria of the channel capacity of MIMO systems and space-time coding , encoding and decoding methods of analysis of the space-time trellis codes and space- time block codes (Alamouti code ) . Followed by the quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (N1 yards) encoding method based on a new type of quasi- orthogonal space -time block codes and simulation analysis with traditional quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes performance comparison , a new quasi-orthogonal space-time block code performance is slightly better than the traditional quasi-orthogonal space -time block codes , but under the conditions of the high signal-to-noise ratio performance is still inferior to the orthogonal space-time block codes . The last without increasing decoding complexity under the premise of using the random phase rotation method to improve its performance under the conditions of the high signal-to-noise ratio , Simulation results show that the performance of the quasi-orthogonal space - time block codes in the high signal-to-noise ratio conditions has been significantly improved .
