Abstract


Recent years, due to the rapid development of the Chinese economy, the import and export keep a fast growing. Since 2004, China has been the third largest trading country of the world, just after U.S. and Germany, at the same time the proportion of international trade deal increases year by year. There has been large numbers of enterprises in sphere of import and export, which have excellent growth potential. Thus the development of international trade has a good exterior market environment. Comparing to the traditional bank service, the foreign exchange is an operation of intelligence concentration with many advantages, such as high additional value, strong payoff ability and tight to other operations. In one word, foreign exchange is a powerful instrument to improve competition ability and influence by supplying high quality services.Since 2006, the foreign banks have got national treatment, the domestic joint-stock banks kept growing along with the reformation of financial system of China, and state-owned commercial banks kept a stable step to implement stock reformation and came into the market. At the same time, the foreign exchange has been an important instrument in the international competition and expansion of extroversion level for all kinds of banks. However, being a branch bank facing the market directly, we have many problems and shortages, both in understandings and operational mechanism, which influence and restrict the strategies development of the foreign operation. Suiting the remedy to the case is the only way to improve the development of foreign operation. Responding to the summons of provincial branch bank which call on greatly developing foreign operation, we’ll manage to improve service quality and competition abilities to adapt to the tendency of economy globalization.Firstly, this article introduces the development status quo and problems of J Branch bank of Agricultural Bank of China, and the strategic which puzzles at present is how to expand the proportion in foreign exchange market of C city, to finish the aim mission provided by the superior bank and achieve sustainable development on current conditions. Secondly, the article explains the importance and impendence of these strategic puzzles. Thirdly, the article analyzes the reason of the strategic puzzles and tackles the ultimate causes. On one hand, commercial banks launched the foreign exchange operation continuously and carved up the market fiercely, on the other hand, the historical negative factors of Agricultural Bank of China limit the development of foreign exchange which is despised. The article indicates the advantages and inferior position to develop foreign exchange operations for branch bank by SWOT analysis, and give the strategies to develop foreign exchange operations for J Branch bank of Agricultural Bank of China, combining with characteristics of foreign exchange operations, the developing direction of Agricultural Bank of China and status quo of competition in market of C city. There are five aspects to discuss the strategies developing foreign exchange operations: improving consciousness, product innovation, consummating prompting mechanism, reshaping organization and risks controlling.The article try to establish a system project of foreign exchange operations for state-owned commercial bank on a background of foreign trade growing rapidly and commercial bank competing fiercely, moreover, enrich the theory system for modern commercial banks in this sphere. In addition, the writer hopes the article would give some suggestions to J Branch bank to improve the management and development of foreign exchange operations.
