Abstract


Commercial Bank is the core of a national financial system, and its operating efficiency is not only related to the level of savings to investment in the conversion efficiency, but also will affect the transfer and the implementation of the national macro-economic financial policy. It can be said that the operation of commercial banks is a barometer of the national economy. Now, China’s banking has been fully open to foreign countries, and China’s commercial banks are faced with impacts and challenges that foreign banks bring. Research on the efficiency of China’s commercial banks will identify effective and ineffective, analyze the efficiency trend, test the reform measures and provide the theoretical and empirical basis for the regulator to assess the reform effect and adjust the regulation policy.Based on China’s actual condition, this paper builds a feasible comprehensive evaluation system, and proposes a new perspective for research on the efficiency of China’s commercial banks. First, this paper expands the definition of efficiency from the various theoretical approaches on the efficiency, and in accordance with the operating characteristics of China’s commercial banks, constructs the evaluation system of operating efficiency, which is profitability, cost control, risk control and liquidity. Next, combined with the annual data of 6 years, this paper uses gray correlation analysis to measure the comprehensive levels of efficiency of 12 commercial banks and put them in order by calculating the gray correlation coefficients and gray correlation degrees. Then, this paper compares the results horizontally and vertically and finds out the advantage and shortcoming in every commercial bank as well as the reason leds to inefficiency. Finally, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions according to the problems.
