Abstract

Air pollution has become one of the important factors that affect the human health and contain the development of the city. With the acceleration of urbanization, the urban-air pollution has entered into the combined pollution era and thus caused a series of pollutions. For building the resource-saving and environment-friendly society and the National Model City for Environmental Protection, in order to solve the growing public concern for urban air quality problems, it is important to have a clear understanding of he primary pollutants in urban air pollution and also its sources. So,this experiment mainly studies the distribution characteristics of the atmospheric particulate matter pollution in Wuhan Optical Valley. The research discovered:1. Studying the inhalable particle (PM10) concentrations in Wuhan Optical Valley from December 2008 to December 2010, found that the success rate that reaches the concentration limits for the national secondary standard was 44%. The Area’s environmental air quality in summer and autumn was better in winter and spring.2. The monthly change of the particle concentration has the similar trend in 2009 and 2010, that all appear first decreased and then increased as the change of time, and also the minimum peak value both appeared in July, while the highest peak appeared in October and November. The highest monthly concentration of PM10 was 0.189 mg/m3 which appeared in November 2010, while the lowest value was 0.058 mg/m3 in July 2009.3. Experiments also compared the situation changes in the concentration of particles during the two obvious pollution monitoring period phenomenon that the gray-haze weather and the dust-sandstorm weather, the results showed that the two kinds of pollution phenomenon has apparent obviously different. Researched the relationships between the concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 during the non-haze and haze, the fine particles (PM2.5) have a large contribution to the haze phenomenon.4. Discussed meteorological factors that could impact the particle concentrations’change, such as the temperature, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, etc meteorological factors and the traffic flow, the relationship between the temperature and particle concentration was negatively, while the relationship between traffic flow and particle concentration was positively, the rainfall’s size and length except the different size of particulate with different results.5. Analyzed the particulates’components with XRF, STEM, IC, the results show that Si, Ca, Al, S, Ti, K, Fe, Zn are the main elements of particulate matter, and could infer mainly aluminosilicates, sulfuric acid salt, carbonate, carbon black, etc. in the particulate matter. The ratio of the S2-, NO3-, SO42- in the samples that collected in the Optical Valley Plaza is 55.41%, 20.29%, 10.16%, while in campus libraries the percentage is 44.99%, 14.41%, 30.12% respectively.
