Abstract


As an important path and link of the ideological and political education, social practice lays an irreplaceable role in encouraging college and university students to understand the society and national conditions, enhancing their sense of social responsibility and service. During the past 30 years, a large number of productive activities have been carried out according to the principles”receiving more educations, accelerating the growth in competence and making more contributions to the society”, and much great effectiveness and rich experiences were achieved. But there are still many problems and shortages in the practical work. So as the ideological and political instructors, we still need to summarize the experiences to improve the approach and the mode of thinking during the work. Students are also acquired to get directions about the working methods of practice. Therefore, it is significant for colleges and universities students to analyze the current situation of society, explore the trend of social practice and conduct the students’social practice to be more scientific, more systematic and make it conform to a certain standard.Besides the preface, there are five parts in the body article.In the first part, in order to learn the 30 years’ development of practical activities in the universities, the history of social practice, the type of activities as well as the national policy guidance about this were concisely reviewed.In the second part, the significance and effect of college and university students’social practice was emphasized. It was illustrated from three aspects: developing talent, promoting reformation of college education and promoting the development of material and spiritual civilization.In the third part, the status quo of college and university students’social practice was investigated through questionnaire and the problem was analyzed, the experiences were found. Furthermore, we summarized the positive impact of the Olympic volunteer service activities on social practice activities by making detailed analysis on the practice that university students volunteers served the Beijing Olympic Games.In the fourth part, some distinguishing social practices were described, including“the exploratory and service learning”in America and“experiential employment”in Japan, in order to expound the impact of social practice and enlightenment of the oversea on the university students’social practice in China.In the fifth part, based on the above analyzing, studying, conclusion and under the guidance of the Scientific Outlook on Development, in my opinion, there are some great ways to achieve scientific construction of college students social practice system and to promote the health and scientific development of college and university students social practice. So it was recommended that social practice activities were combined with reinforcement of ideological and political education to university students, learning the professional knowledge, employment and entrepreneurship, services for local economic and social development. In a summary, we should take all steps to realize the specialization of the content, the standardization of the system, the scientificity of the organization, the socialization of the operation and the legalization of the management .Undoubtedly we are supposed to grasp principles while undertaking the social practice activities, including independence , purposiveness, direction, diversity, service, and edutainment.
