Ningbo is one of the most developed regions in China. In order to solve problems of urban traffic congestion in process of urbanization, The city begin to bulid the first line of Ningbo rail transit. It is important to predict the accurate ground settlement for prevention and control measures, which are needed to prevent building damage. Predicting the accurate ground settlement is also of guiding significance not only to the follow-up construction in Ningbo area, but also of certain reference function to similar regions in China.Based on the measured data of the first line of Ningbo rail transit, this paper will discuss the law of ground settlement in Ningbo area with shield driven method. The software of origin 8.0 is used to fit measured data in the paper. From the fitting curves, the rate of ground loss and width of setting tank in Ningbo area are obtained. This paper also put forward prediction formula to predict ground settlement of Ningbo area. In addition, The software of Abaqus is also used to discuss affect of mechanical properties changes of injecting cement paste on ground settlement with shield driven method.The innovation of the paper are as follows:(1) The rate of ground loss (V1) and width of setting tank (i) in Ningbo area are both modified.(2) Prediction formula that are used to predict ground settlement of Ningbo area are obtained.(3) Affect of Poissons ratio of injecting cement paste in curing period on ground settlement are consider in this paper, which are not studied by other researchers.
