IEEE 802.16m is a next generation Mobile WiMAX (Mobile Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) standard , known WiMAX2, IMT-Advanced (International Mobile Telecommunications-Advanced) is also one of the two standards . Compared to the previous mobile communication standard , such as WiMAX , LTE ( Long Term Evolution) , etc. IEEE802.16m main objective is to achieve a higher data transfer rate . In order to achieve higher data rates , the reliable control channel is based. In this thesis, the the the IEEE 802.16m control channel design principles, and the corresponding receiver algorithms . We first analyze the IEEE 802.16m in the design of the control channel resource allocation , how to use the wireless multipath channel frequency diversity to improve the reliability of the control channel . Then, for the different control channels , such as the downlink P -SFH ( Primary Superframe Header) , the S -SFH ( Second Superframe Header) , and the Assignment the A- MAP (Advanced MAP ) control channel , uplink HARQ ( Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request ) feedback channel , bandwidth request channel , etc., they are designed corresponding to the receiving algorithm , and to compare their performance . Actual system , mostly used in order to reduce the volume of the antenna is a dual polarized antenna . And compared to the theoretical analysis used a monopole antenna , the use of dual-polarized antenna of the MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) radio channel has some special properties . With these properties, we can achieve a higher reliability. The paper concludes with a dual-polarized antenna space-time code design optimization of the design of the control channel . This optimization design can be used in the IEEE 802.16m , in order to achieve a better performance than the existing control channel .
