Abstract


The streaming media is to stream in the data network technology to transmit multimedia information. With the development of broadband networks and user demand driven, streaming media technology and applications get more and more attention based video-on-demand streaming media technology (Video-On-Demand, VOD) system is considered to be the future of high-speed broadband one of the network's mainstream applications. Video-on-demand system provides audio and video on demand service for users through the network, and not subject to the restrictions of time and space. Change the past, people passive access to information has broad prospects and great economic benefits. Therefore, video-on-demand system has a certain practical significance and role. Proceed from the actual application requirements, Design and implementation of video-on-demand system based on streaming media technology, so that users do not need to be downloaded to watch the video, the video download while playing. This article covers computer technology, network communication technology. The main research work is reflected in the following aspects:. Basis of the technical aspects, the first of the underlying technology for video-on-demand a brief description, such as streaming media technology, multimedia technology, data compression techniques, and focuses on the characteristics of streaming media transmission and principle, streaming media transmission and related agreements, and the ASP.NET system development technology overview, to lay the foundation for research and development. 2 function modules, introduces the video-on-demand system using the three-tier architecture, the structures involved in the function module video management subsystem, user management subsystem, system management subsystem, evaluate management subsystem, as well as the front desk user logs module, video-on-demand module, video search module lists the system workflow involves a part of the database design structure. System aspects, the paper gives the detailed implementation of the campus network-based video-on-demand system, specifically shows each functional sub-module function interface, operating processes and implementation process, a complete video-on-demand, provide users with comprehensive service. This article is designed to accelerate the the campus digital information in the process of building, focuses on the research system works and implementation process, and to promote the application of computer network technology in the day-to-day school life.
