Abstract


Based on wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (WDM-PON) transmission capacity , network security, data transparency , is recognized as one of the most promising future access network program has been widespread concern . Wherein , based on a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) colorless ONU program due to both the downlink carrier signal amplification and modulation functions of the vertical signal is made ??for the WDM-PON ONU side achieve one of the most attractive technology . Meanwhile, a variety of advanced modulation format having a constant power because of its significant advantage on the transmission characteristics are also introduced into the WDM-PON , to breakthrough due to the signal degradation resulting transfer limit . In this thesis around the based RSOA re- modulation technology and its applications in high-speed WDM-PON study . The the RSOA gain characteristics and spectral characteristics of key research explores in depth the the RSOA gain by fiber input power and the injection current , and small-signal verification the RSOA re modulation performance . Introduced several new high-speed DPSK, FSK , IRZ and Manchester signal generation and analysis of the signal 's spectrum and time domain characteristics , clarify the respective pattern characteristics . Meanwhile, through the establishment of high-speed modulation characteristics based on RSOA (40Gbits / s) WDM-PON system , which of the four applications of advanced modulation format , focus from the two aspects of the impact of power into the fiber and dispersion management study their transmission characteristics , and a detailed and systematic comparison . In addition, to achieve uplink signal modulated based on both the RSOA and intensity modulation (AM, Amplitude Modulator) a colorless ONU programs were compared. Experimental Study 40Gbits / s DPSK signals and 40Gbits / s FSK respectively downlink signal in a WDM-PON , RSOA modulation uplink transmission characteristics of the system , analysis of the experimental results to verify the DPSK and FSK RSOA - based high-speed PON in the application feasibility.
