Abstract


Objective:To observe the effect The Renal Function and SDS Scores of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) joint treatment on the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in order to provide the scientific basis of its clinic application.Methods:Patients in CKD3-4 were selected and measured with Zung Self-rating Depression Seale (SDS) at first.60 of whom got the scores of 50 or more were randomly divided into group of TCM and control group. Both group were given by basic Western Medicine according to the CKD condition of patients. The therapy group had the TCM of Guanchang and Decoction. All subjects were treated for one course. Compare levels of blood Scr、BUN、GFR、Alb、Hb、K、Ca、P and clinic symptom scores、SDS scores before and after therapy.Results:1. All levels of blood Scr, BUN, GFR and clinic symptom scores、SDS scores declined after therapy (P<0.05). Both treatment protocol were effective. While the level of Scr in TCM group declined more than the control group, which means the levels of blood Scr can be better controlled in the TCM group.2. The effective rate of kidney function in this therapy was 60.0% in TCM group and 26.7% in control group. While the same rate of SDS-score levels was 30.0% in TCM group and 13.3% in control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).3. There was no significant difference for levels of blood ALb, Hb, K, Ca, P in this reaserch.Conclusions:The therapy that combined Western medicine with TCM which including Guanchang and Decoction was more effective to the CKD patients, not only in declining their kidney function levels but the SDS-score levels. This treatment protocol may be wildly used in more clinical area.
