Abstract


Underwater acoustic signal processing is a challenge for small target detection in shallow water or coastal waters . In recent years , the rise of multi-input multi-output ( Multiple Input Multiple Output MIMO) detection method provides a new research ideas for small target detection . In this paper, MIMO processing framework based on co-location of the small target detection research . Underwater acoustic channel characterization based on the framework of the co-located MIMO signal processing design five orthogonal waveform ; Gaussian noise background conditions derived MIMO detector and estimator , and performance analysis ; in the analysis of mixed rang statistical properties proposed K-distribution - based MIMO generalized likelihood ratio detector . Finally MIMO small target detection experimental study carried out in the laboratory waveguide pool and Qiandao Lake , the experimental results show that the MIMO detection with respect to conventional phased array method can effectively improve the detection of small targets .
