The valve train is an important mechanism system of the internal combustion engine,it makes the valve to open and close regularly,guarantees the engine can work with high efficiency of air admission and air change.Thus,how the valve train performance is directely related about the engine’s power performance, fuel economy, emission performance, reliability and durability. Therefore,it is a of great significant and profound meaningful work to carry out the reaserch on dynamics & kinematics characteristic of valve train.This paper based on the actual diesel’s model, makes a study on dynamics & kinematics characteristic of valve train.The theoretical calculation is based on the theory of the multi-body dynamics and multi-quality system, simulation and evaluation of dynamic characteristics of the valvetrain system were executed . A dynamic measure system for valve train was setup, and multi-parameter testing was carried out,we tested the valve lift, valve accerlarate,the stess of rocker-arm and push-rod at the same time,it is the first time in this field in our country. The results of simulation and test indicated that, the curve of valve lift is continuous and smooth; the maximum seating speed of valve is less than the allowable value, but the valve acceleration while the valve seating is unstable. With higher speed, there is slight mechanism separation when the valve is seating, the valve clearance is fluctuant under the normal condition. The result of simulation is nearly the same as experiment.This article mainly described the method and the step about using ADAMS software to conduct the valve train dynamics research,seeking the method of rigid-flexible muti-body system.Through the whole simulation of valve train working process , gained a lot of information that can not reflect with ADAMS simulation, give full play to two different softerwares,at the same time,we buit a testing platform for dynamics experiment.So it help us to know about the dynamics performance of valve train relative comprehensive.It is a whole study system for reaserch on valve train dynamics,providing a useful reference for others to study the performance of valve train.
