Abstract

Suggestibility is one of the complex psychological phenomena of human kind. In the late 1900s, psychologist home and abroad has begun to conduct systematic studies on human suggestibility. Yet there is no receivable definition on the item of Suggestibility. There is still no standardized instrument measuring Suggestibility in the nation. On which level could Suggestibility play its role? How to operate the abstract subjective feelings? How to qualify the psychological process existing in subconscious mind in order make people know their state better then to instruct people’s behavior in daily life. This can be measured in clinical practice to facilitate the study.This study, based on the previous studies, developed a simple test instrument on Suggestibility. Then it is applied to Acupuncture with Deqi and Psychological effects in Treatment of Bell’s Palsy. The results of the study are as follows:Firstly, this study summarizes a consecutive study and results on hypnotic susceptibility or suggestibility begins on the study of hypnosis. This study explains different understanding and definition on suggestibility in history and gives a brief analyze on the factors effecting suggestibility, so as to form its own theoretical structure of suggestibility. This study widely collects and refers to representative suggestibility experiments in history. Ensuring the depth and the breadth, this study refines the contents and instruments in developing projects to reinforce theoretical basis for later study. Secondly, collect topics of the suggestibility by surveys, interviews and expert analysis. By strictly developing each instrument, this study localizes suggestibility through previously formed theoretical form. Through a series of project analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability and validity testing, this study gives a formal instrument of suggestibility test. The measurements contains 10 aspects naming Vision, hearing, touch, smell, temperature sensation, weight perception, balance perception, and memory, a credit entry and a special item in 8 dimensions.Finally, it is used in the Acupuncture with Deqi and Psychological effects in Treatment of Bell’s Palsy to test the suggestibility of the patients. The studies show that there is no difference between manipulation and non-manipulation, and a slice difference between male and female patients in term of suggestibility. The degree of suggestibility is age-related and relies on partly on personalities.
