With the rapid development of the Internet and multimedia technologies , video - on - demand began to be widely used in home entertainment , distance education , and other industries . Video-on-demand media resources demand viewing and any player . Development of embedded technology so that more and more intelligent embedded devices and information began to enter people's lives , making a video - on - demand system for embedded terminal equipment has also become a hot research . In this context , this paper embedded video on demand system , and on this basis to achieve the one used in embedded video-on-demand system for home information terminal . This paper first describes the composition of the common video-on-demand systems and develop embedded video-on-demand system , then introduce the embedded home information terminal hardware architecture and software platform , and platform presentations and analysis on the basis of the demand for video-on-demand system , designed the overall framework of the embedded video-on-demand system . The embedded video-on-demand system is designed for the B / S architecture , providing on-demand services by the WEB server , terminal embedded browser access to the server on-demand resources for effective management of a large number of resources , an administrator on the PC side . Embedded development using the open-source browser QtWekit browser engine to achieve browser player plugins and embedded player interface for the completion of the on-demand feature . Design ideas with the concrete implementation of the server-side details and key modules , detailed test and analysis system . The test results show that the embedded video-on-demand system to achieve the desired objectives concise and easy-to-use , resource management , good quality video playback . Finally, a summary of the work done , the outlook of the application prospects of the system , and pointed out that further research directions .
