Underwater acoustic communication technology was originally used in the military field , has strategic significance in the defense , in the last ten years, with the vast underwater acoustic communication civilian , commercial prospects for human continuous development and utilization of marine resources . Underwater high-speed data transmission has been one of the hot water acoustic communication researchers . Early studies show that sound transmission loss and seawater absorption greatly hampered underwater acoustic channel bandwidth and signal propagation distance , In addition , the underwater acoustic channel typical when change passers- fading characteristics determines in the past for a long period of time , the water sound the communication system can only be used to reduce a code rate , a non - coherent demodulation , the frequency modulation of the ways to achieve reliable communication . Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology with high spectrum efficiency and strong anti- multipath interference ability , can achieve high-speed data communications , and as a multi- carrier modulation technique for high-rate underwater acoustic communication hope. This paper focuses on the OFDM IFFT / FFT implementation , and discuss some of the key technologies of OFDM used in underwater acoustic communication system and research . Its main tasks are : OFDM principle elaborated ; analysis of how the guard interval against multipath interference , two common forms of guard interval , and their advantages and disadvantages compared ; discuss four based on an IFFT / FFT OFDM system model , compare them realize it 's complexity and system of transmission efficiency ; focusing on research channel estimation techniques , first of all introduce the structure of several common guide frequency , then of pilot frequency sub- carrier at the channel estimated respectively using LS criteria and MMSE Standards estimates that compared two algorithms mean square error value and the error rate of the system , and then discuss several interpolation algorithm to estimate the channel response at the value of the data subcarriers , and simulation of these algorithms and comparative analysis results ; Finally, the simulation results and analysis of the overall performance of the OFDM underwater acoustic communication system .
