Abstract


The satellite communications system is mainly composed by the satellite and Satellite communications earth station, Currently, the satellite communications technology has been widely used in satellite communication, but the correspoding monitoring system for Satellite communication earth station has not been fully established. So it’s very inconvenient in the operation and maintenance of the devices. As the main part of the satellite communications system, the earth station is very important to the satellite communications system, and the monitoring system is the key part of the earth station, The performance of it, to a large extent, determines the satellite communication quality. Normally, we use PC software to monitor earth stations and it is not so convenient for people to use, in orde to solve this problem, we designed a Monitor and Control System in Satellite is Embedded Modem on PDA, which can use both serial communications and wireless communications.This thesis covers the core technologies during the design and implementation of the Monitoring System in Embedded Modem Satellite Earth Station based on PDA. Firstly, this thesis introduces the satellite communications systems, satellite earth station and monitoring system, The framework of the monitoring system is determined combined with the actual demand. And then carried out a detailed analysis of each module’s hardware and software design .Wireless communication technology, Socket-threading technology, wince database technology, computer software technology and MCU technology have been applied in the monitoring system.The monitoring system achieved monitoring and management of the satellite communication stations, and have been applied to the practical application. The software has undergone rigid software test to ensure its stability and reliability, and is human friendly, now, the software has been released for commercial use.
