Abstract


A key requirement in future wireless system is their ability to provide broadband connectivity with end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS), a high network capacity, and throughput at a low cost.The 3G service has a fast development in China.China mobile ,China Telecom and China Unicom have built their own 3G network. Accompanied by the increasing 3G users,new requirements are made to the Transmission Network.More and more base stations need higher bandwidth.This paper firstly analyzes the development process of 3G in China . Then the paper discusses the basic principle and the application form of optical transmission technology. This paper discussed in detail the technology of optical transmission technology such as SDH,DWDM,MSTP,PTN,ASON and OTN. The traditional Optical Transport Networh can not meet the requirements of 3G trandport network. On this basis we put forword the views of 3G Transmission Network Planning Solution of China Telecom Lianyungang Branch.
