Abstract


The traditional Pipa music“Song at the Frontier" was firstly appeared a score book - "13 refined new Pipa complete score of the north & south genre" - that published in 1895, and written by Mr. Li Fang Yuan. The score book has a short name as "Li’s score". The Song at the Frontier is an excellent traditional music production with extraordinary history, deep meaning and plaintive conception. It’s much signalized academic subject to research and study the traditional Pipa music“Song at the Frontier" on the similarities and differences of version, the style and property of tone, the structure, the play mythology and skill, the musical expressive force and the timbre specialty. This thesis includes the detail analysis and assessment with the go-through work on the play mythology and skill which referred and inherited in Mr. Liu De Hai concert version, also with the observation and epagoge observation of Mr. Li Guang Zu’s achievement on the current continuation status and musical feature of“Wang”genre. So, this work helps players on better study and understanding on the strength of diversiform genre of Pipa musicology, and also provides the researching information for the today evolution of Pipa musicology. Based on the multiple evolution situations in 21st century, the subject of how to look into and heritage the tradition, is worth being thought over by each musician whom studying the Chinese national traditional music. None but to learn from the traditional essence, and combine the today culture and esthetics, is the way to develop and come through a national traditional music– the Pipa Music.
