Abstract

In order to limit the harmonic pollution generated by electronic equipments, national and international harmonic current standards are formulated. And kinds of power factor correction (PFC) techniques are used to decrease the input harmonic current and increase the power factor. Compared to passive power factor correction technique, better power factor can be obtained by active power factor correction technique, and Boost power factor correction converter is widely used and studied among the active power factor correction technique. The study object of this paper is Boost power factor correction converter, and several aspects of Boost power factor correction converter are studied as follows:1) A voltage-doubler Boost PFC converter with RB-IGBTs topology is proposed, and the circuit structure is simplified. As the power losses of the proposed converter are low, the conversion efficiency can be high.2) A quasi-static model for three-level Boost PFC converter is built, and based on this model, system stability and dynamic performance are analyzed, and control parameters design is given. Compared to the traditional model analysis, it is more reasonable to analyze with the proposed model. Moreover, the control parameters for design can be restricted into a more accurate range.3) To enhance the dynamic performance, an output current estimation algorithm is proposed, in which output current measurement is not needed. As the output current detection circuit is eliminated, system hardware cost is decreased, and it is possible to accelerate the output voltage response of the digital controlled PFC system in use, after updating the program.4) A feedback linearization control for voltage-doubler Boost PFC converter is proposed, after linearizing the non-linear PFC system, the classic linear system design method can be applied. Both steady state accuracy and dynamic performance can be enhanced and high power factor and fast dynamic response can be achieved.
