Abstract


With the expansion of the scale, the author’s school was expanded. Corresponding to the school network is also divided into North and South, there are two network core and export, network management is very inconvenient. Along with students, teachers, families line up of network usage, network management, the pressure comes. For the endless variety of network problems, no systematic and scientific management of a network is extremely unreliable. Therefore, the establishment of a scientific, efficient and viable campus network management system is my top priority in the school campus network.This paper studies the topology found in a variety of methods, including topology discovery protocols and tools, topology discovery algorithm. Analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of various methods of logical topology that a variety of methods known physical topology inadequate, and our school campus under its own characteristics, use of the physical topology and logical topology combination of methods to campus network devices into the backbone network equipment (including routers, switches, etc.) and host.Backbone network equipment for completion of the agreement with CDP to the floor within the campus network topology discovery (mainly for the fault location and convenient traffic analysis), the host device based on ICMP protocol PING tool to achieve to the host of the probe, thereby greatly enhancing the topology automatic discovery system integrity.
