Abstract


The rapid development of IT brings a great advantage to production and management for the enterprise, but also accumulates vast amounts of data. When we face such huge data, we need to improve information utilization, to identify the needed information quickly and accurately and, ultimately, to do a wise decision which is the driving force for building a business analysis and decision support system. Data warehouse is the most effective way to realize this purpose: using the data warehouse, we can not only achieve unified and effective marketing data storage, but also deal with multi-level data analysis for market sector, and display the real information value in many ways.This thesis is based on data warehouse and OLAP technology. It provides the design and development of a data analysis system for a network conference platform. Data warehouse and OLAP technology and related theory are first clarified. The use of these two technologies, as a system design guide combined with the analysis of systems business demand, is discussed. Ultimately, the use of open source software comes as a support of entire system development.
