Abstract

Foam separation technique is relatively fast development of novel separation techniques in the recent decades , one of the foam separation surface active agent is the use of a surfactant adsorption principle for separation . In this paper, the foam separation of simulated wastewater cetyltrimethylammonium bromide bromide ( CTAB ) , sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) , and chlorinated XVI the alkyl pyridine ( CPC ) separation , recovery and enrichment than assessed separation . Through a series of single-factor foam separation experiments , the effects of various operating parameters of the intake velocity , initial feed concentration , liquid height , ethanol content , pH and ionic strength of the effect of separation . Various surfactants and select the separation greater impact on the operating conditions , orthogonal experiment surfactant combination of optimum separation conditions . The results showed that the CTAB best combination of separation conditions : initial concentration of 0.7mmol / L, drum air speed 0.25m3 / h , height 33.9cm, 4mL/500mL ethanol content , the recovery rate was 95.99% . SDBS optimal separation conditions: initial concentration of 1.05mmol / L, the intake air speed 0.20m3 / h, the solution to pH 9 , the ion concentration of 0.4mmol / L , the recovery rate of 97.42% . SDS optimum separation conditions were as follows : the initial concentration of the surface active agent 1.0mmol / L, and the gas flow 0.25m3 / h , ethanol content 5mL/500mL , liquid height 20.5cm , recovery can reach 85.40% . CPC optimal separation conditions were as follows : the speed of the intake 0.15m3 / h, the initial concentration of 0.5mmol / L , the ionic strength 5.0mmol / L , the liquid height 23.83cm , optimum recovery was 98.99% . This paper established a mathematical model of the batch foam separation of surfactants in water , first assume that some of the parameters of the separation process , based on the material balance equation , draw a series of differential equations to solve the model using matlab software , combined with the experimental validation , and came to the impact conditions and the relationship of enrichment ratio .
