Abstract

Poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) is a many of the excellent physical properties of the thermoplastic plastic. Which disadvantages, such as slow crystallization rate, low modulus, low heat distortion temperature limits the application in engineering plastics. Compared to pure PET, and adding a small amount of montmorillonite (MMT) on the PET substrate obtained intercalation or peel-type PET / MMT nanocomposites in the rate of crystallization, the heat resistance, mechanical properties, gas barrier properties and flame performance and other aspects have been significantly improved PET / MMT nanocomposites concern. This article was prepared by three organic MMT (OMMT), the the intercalation agent with the preparation process modification effect of MMT by melt intercalation method has been exfoliated and intercalated of flocculation-type PET / MMT nanocomposites prepared, and to study the relationship between structure and properties of the kind and content of the modified MMT and composites. The main work is as follows: 1, using conventional intercalating agent cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). PET good compatibility of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and mixtures of both organic MMT OMMT; infrared spectroscopy results showed that the the intercalation agent entered into the the montmorillonite layer, the wide-angle X-ray results show that the the montmorillonite interlayer spacing increases from 1.5nm to 2.22nm TG results showed that the mixture of CTAB and PEG intercalated thermal stability the best. 2 CTAB organic MMT optimize the process, the proportion of maximum spacing factor affecting the MMT layer CTAB molar amount of MMT ion exchange capacity, little effect of the stirring rate and temperature within the study area. Melt blending MMT, of organic MMT and PET obtained a series of PET / MMT nanocomposites. The wide-angle X-ray results show that the the organic MMT modified PET intercalation the flocculation-type nanostructures. MMT directly modified PET-MMT system has been the peel-type nanostructure. 4, the study of the flow properties of the PET / MMT worst results found that the flow properties of the peelable PET-MMT system. MMT content higher montmorillonite nano structure on the flow of PET hinder peeling system, PET-MMT larger of CTAB plasticizing effect so that the flow properties of the PET-CTAB-MMT system becomes better, but the flow properties than the pure PET poor. Found that the flow properties of the PET-CTAB-PEG-MMT, only MMT content is 8%, and its flow properties to pure PET Good concerned and PEG with PET compatibility. 5 TG results show that the composite material of the studied only CTAB-PEG-MMT content is 4% of the PET / MMT good thermal stability to pure PET, which is related to the strong hydrogen bonding of PEG and PET. 6, to study the crystallization properties of PET / MMT by DSC and POM. The results show that the crystallization rate of the PET / MMT than pure PET, MMT nanosheet layer structure acts as a nucleating agent in the PET crystallization, making the PET the MMT the nanoflake layer structure above heterogeneous nucleation. PET-MMT peeling structure makes it the fastest crystallization rate. Higher MMT content, the faster the crystallization rate of PET-CTAB-PEG-MMT, while the other two of PET / MMT crystallization rate is substantially constant, and PEG with PET compatibility Good relevant.
