Abstract


Many Chinese medicine experts have been continued to seek for Chinese medicine’s outlet. On one hand, They introduce western medicine’instruments, tools and even methods into Chinese medicine; on the other hand, they try to use the theory of western medicine to explain Chinese medicine and make it "scientific" as well.This thesis attempts to represent clinical trials do not apply to validate the effectiveness of Chinese medicine.The knowledge system of western medicine was established in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, etc. Western medicine is selected from many different kinds of compounds. They testify those medicine’s safety and effectiveness through animal experiments and clinical trials. Western medicine is evidence-based medicine, is based on rigorous formal logic and system’s experiments. All clinical trials exclude or ignore small error and unforeseen factors, and are executed in the most ideal environment. But when medicine applies to the public, inapplicability happens frequently. Plus the inherent bias and problems in conclusion of clinical trials itself, the accuracy of clinical trials has not been demonstrated yet.Chinese medicine is practical medicine. The research results of Chinese medicine are from experiences, and has been verified on countless patients for thousands years. In the theory of Chinese medicine, every human being is unique. Doctors make a definite diagnosis after carefully look, listen, question and feel the pulse. But in western medicine’theory, there is few difference between each individuals. The only difference is different data of human body. So, the purpose of clinical trials is to obtain more samples for more data and then obtain a more accurate standard value.Therefore, Chinese medicine should establish its own standard and methods of verification instead of simply transplanting them from western medicine system.
