Abstract


With the development of modern power electronics technology and multi-disciplinary cross-application, inductive energy storage (IES) high pulsed power technology has no longer been restricted in the high-energy physics, national defense, nuclear industry and some other related fields. It leads to great innovation and fast development of the rising industry. Besides to improve the repetitive frequency, output power and efficiency, it still needs to realize the compact integrative production and low cost. Under the background, study on plasma opening switch (POS) based IES pulsed power supply is proposed in this paper.Recent research development of the key technique of IES pulsed power supply is summarized. After illustrating the principle of POS with external magnetic field, charge and discharge equivalent circuit of pulsed power supply with POS is theoretically analyzed. Influence of energy storage parameters on inductive energy storage process is studied with MATLAB. Structure of POS for industrialized application is designed.Considering the principle of high frequency resonance inverter, the resonance parameters are calculated. Comparing results of PSPICE simulation, it shows that the resonance charger has a constant-current characteristic and the LC resonance is better than LCC on capacitor-charging. When resonance parameters are fixed, reasonable excitation of transformer can effectively improve the repetitive frequency and the efficiency.According to the highly integrative requirement of IES pulsed power supply, a LC resonance and POS based pulsed power supply is designed. The logical time schedule controlling and the output characteristic of power supply are analyzed. Hardware design contains the calculation of parameters of power electronic and magnetic elements, the control circuit that take dsPIC30F4012 as its main controller. The software includes the control strategy and program flows. The paper presents a prototype and relevant experiments, including the configuration of the device, the debugging process and experiment results.The paper designs a pulsed power supply to build an experimental platform for the research of POS opening process, and discusses the industrialized application of POS based pulsed power supply.
