Abstract


The broken wires of WEDM-HS tool electrode has always been an important factor that influence machining efficiency of WEDM-HS. Found through researches, impact wear to tool electrode is causing the important reason of broken wires of tool electrode in pulse generator is in WEDM working process. With reference to relevant information both at home and abroad, make the analysis of the pulse current waveform with the tool electrode wear ratio relationship. Combine the advantages of high voltage and low-voltage pulse wave and grouping pulse current waveform, redesign pulse generator helping to reduce tool electrode wear ratio.Main circuit is composed by the high-low-voltage compound circuit, the high-pressure circuit is arc ignition circuit ; low-voltage circuit is the processing circuit that composed by the same 5 parallel circuit. According to the requirements of the outputing of power, it have designed AC/DC changer of high-pressure return circuit and low-voltage return circuit separately. To ensure the processing circuit receive the pulse signals normally, designed pulse signal transmission and amplification circuit by using the optocoupler and dedicated MOSFET drive chip.The part of control composed by the host computer control software and the lower computer pulse generating circuit that AVR microcontroller as its core. PC software and the original WEDM control system share a common hardware platform, the visualization pulse parameters interface enable more convenient to control the regulation of pulse power waveform, at the same time simplifies the structure of circuit pulse.It had been carried on the process test on DK7732 WEDM by using the prototype of pulse generator. Test result shows that in the same processing efficiency, the pulse power can reduce the impact and loss to the tool electrode to some extent.
